• Anne Blackwell | Senior Warden

I have been an Episcopalian for more than thirty years. I love the liturgy, the flow of the seasons, the altar set for communion, and the message of love, compassion, and respect. Lay Eucharistic Ministry, Altar Guild, Flower Guild, Bible Study, Contemplative Prayer, Retreats, Vestry, teaching Sunday School, and especially Outreach Programs have all become increasingly important to me through the years. St. Peter’s is a central part of my life. The congregation is extremely friendly, creative, fun, inclusive, and generous with their time, talents, and resources. Reverend Wendy, Deacon Richard, and retired priests Father Bill and Father Steve are true gifts to our church.

  • Louie Allenbach | Junior Warden

We moved to the Roaring Fork Valley about ten years ago and joined St. Peter’s shortly thereafter. We love St. Peter’s for the wonderful, warm, inclusive culture and the many members we have gotten to know who have become like extended family. We moved to Colorado to be grandparents when our first Colorado grandchild, Cleo, was born, and we are blessed to be close to family in this glorious part of the country. I grew up and was educated Catholic in the deep South, and my wife Kate and I moved around during my 23 years with Scott Paper. Kate is a cradle Episcopalian. We have been active in all the churches where we worshipped in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Mississippi, and Virginia. I have served as a lay leader in four different churches and have served on various committees and had roles including Finance, Evangelism, Greeters, and Sunday School teacher.

  • Jan Johnson | Clerk of Vestry

Jan Johnson is a lifelong Episcopalian and has held nearly every position except Altar Guild as she fears she may trip with wine in hand. She was co-warden for St. Peter’s when we were a mission. She currently serves as clerk of the vestry and treasurer of the Northwest Region and recently completed her term as a lay member of the Diocesan Standing Committee. Here at St. Peter’s, she leads the Parish Life/Hospitality Team, is a lay eucharistic minister and hardly ever says no when asked to help. Professionally, Jan has extensive experience in radiation health physics and is still active as a consultant conducting radiation safety training programs for workers and radiation safety officers. She holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, an M.S. degree in health physics from the University of Rochester, and a Ph.D. in microbiology and environmental health from Colorado State University. She sews, but not as well as Cindy Everett; and she sings, but not as well as Tammy or Tom or Jackie. She has three amazing kids, four even more amazing grandchildren, and three super-spectacular great-grandchildren.

  • Tom Kenning | Treasurer

Tom Kenning has been an Episcopalian since 1990 and a member of St. Peter’s since 2010. Prior to that he was a member of St. John’s in Ouray. He was a member of the Diocesan Standing Committee from 1998 to 2001. For the past seven years Tom has been the Chief Administration Officer of Alpine Bank. He has an accounting degree from Colorado State University and a graduate degree in banking from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. He has been married to Tammy for 38 years and has two sons and two grandsons, both of whom were baptized at St. Peter’s. He’s not as good a fisherman as Rick Lofaro or Andy Thomas, and he’s not as good a skier as Steve Rausch or as good a golfer as Bill Shiflet, but he likes to do all those things.

  • Karin Bannerot | Vestry Member

Karin Bannerot joined St. Peter's in 2001. She currently serves on the Altar Guild, is a lay eucharistic minister, and assists with the Yoga Prayer ministry. She also enjoys helping with Extended Table and Garden Committee projects. The Outdoor Chapel was inspired by her dad, the Rev. Fred G. Bannerot III, who served as an Episcopal priest in West Virginia, and her mom, Jutta Bannerot. Both parents helped form Karin's love of the Church as well as quiet, outdoor beauty. Karin has been a nurse for over 40 years, and despite trying to practice retirement, she continues to work as a child care consultant. She is also a Certified Addiction Specialist in private practice, and a grateful member of 12-Step programs. Her activities include pickleball, biking and hiking. Being a member and serving at St. Peter's keeps her Teachable, Leaning into God, and Connected (TLC).

  • Jessica Salet | Vestry Member

I graduated from U.C.L.A. in Political Science and went directly into the beauty industry, quite a transition. My husband and I moved full time to Aspen in 2003 where we both served at Christ Church. In 2020 we moved to Carbondale where we reside. I am a fairly new member of St. Peter’s and feel blessed to have become a part of this wonderful, welcoming, spiritual church with Reverend Wendy as the driving force. Becoming an active member on the altar guild, hospitality team and helping with the garden this past summer has been fulfilling. I am blessed to be serving on the vestry.

  • Meg Haynes | Vestry Member

Meg Haynes joined the Episcopal Church more than 50 years ago, as a newlywed, compromising between husband Morgan’s Congregational upbringing and her own as a Southern Baptist. Meg attended Duke University and spent her career as a management consultant working with Fortune 100 CEOs on strategic planning processes and business plan development and implementation. She has had a lifelong commitment to volunteerism and community outreach. During her 35 years in the Roaring Fork Valley, Meg assisted in creating Leadership Aspen, served as co-chair of the Pitkin County/Aspen Airport Vision Committee, and currently is vice-chair of the newly formed Aspen Airport Board.

Meg’s association with many of the founders of St. Peter’s is longstanding. During the nine years that Meg was president of the Aspen Valley Hospital Board, she worked with Becky Ayres’ late husband Bill. Meg lived next door to Lee Ann Eustis. She facilitated the creation of St. Peter’s Mission Statement during Margaret Austin’s tenure as vicar. When Will Fisher was vicar, Meg conducted a planning retreat for the bishop’s committee. Several congregants joined Reverend Wendy and Meg and her family recently in celebrating the life of Meg’s husband Morgan. Meg has three children and three grandchildren. .Her Belgian Bouvier service dog, Brielle, brings her much joy, and might periodically be seen at St. Peter’s. Meg is honored to be serving on the vestry once again.

  • Cindy Everett | Vestry Member

Cindy has attended St. Peter’s since 1995 and was happy to find a welcoming and friendly church home for her family. Her involvement includes co-chairing the altar guild with Mary Ellis; being a regular contributor to hospitality; serving as gardening volunteer; and participating in outreach programs. She is the primary baker of our communion bread, and it brings her great joy to be a part of the preparation for our Sunday services each week as well as for our holy days, baptisms, and weddings.

Cindy grew up in San Diego and after graduating from San Diego State University moved to Keystone Resort where she met her husband Ken. They moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1989 after a two-year stint at Sugarloaf Resort in Maine and have loved living in this beautiful area ever since. They live in Basalt with their 9-year-old Portuguese water dog Luna. Cindy enjoys skiing, hiking, and road biking as well as gardening, sewing, and reading.

Cindy and Ken’s daughters Jaclyn and Maggie grew up participating in worship at St. Peter’s. Jaclyn, lives in Basalt with her husband Gardner and their 21-month-old son George. Maggie and her husband Tim live in the Los Angeles area and are frequent visitors to the valley.

Cindy looks forward to serving on the vestry and supporting Wendy in her leadership. She hopes her 28 years of participation in the church will enable her to offer some useful perspective in her role as a vestry member.
